The location was good and the cost was low the rooms were clean
the maids moved the beds around from 9 am till 5pm every day and this made alot of noise not good when you go out partying till 4 am The shower was very powerful which was good but the shower head kept coming off the stand because of this The staff not great at reception asked for a taxi and got a bus and got charged 35 euros for a trip back to the airport when a taxi is only 38 euros The computer you can use is a rip off 1 euro for 10 mims and very slow The pool is very cold and very small area and not enough sun beds
Seems to be a very Personable place. The breakfasts are a little boring for a two week stay but still adequate. The gentleman running the bar in the evening is great. He makes every effort to make customers feel comfortable and well taken care of . He deserves a big raise. There seems to be a problem in the hotel with the plumbing ventlation. When the wind is right there is a bad odour in the hotel. The main desk person is great. The hotel is close to down town but not so close that the party noise is a problem, Good. I like this hotel>
The worst part of the hotel is the lack of reasonable internet access. One euro to 10 min is excessive. This could be improved easily with little expense.
The hotel location was fantastic and the rooms were exceptionally reasonably priced.
The bed was firm and we slept well.
This hotel is potrayed as a three star which it clearly is not . If it had been presented as perhaps a one star, I would when considering the cost relative to other hotels in the town be more satisfied. The place smells and strong smelling cleaning materials are used to mask the aroma. The pool area is not atractive and is cramped. The breakfast was bland, boring and cheap. again not what you would expect from a three star or even a one star hotel. The meanest breakfast I have ever come across. If the hotel was described truthfully I could have booked a genuine two star hotel I found in town , closer too the beach and better all round than this one, albeit without a pool.
Have just returned from a five-night trip to Albufeira and stayed at Vila Recife. For location and value for money, this hotel cannot be beaten, being five minutes' walk from the beaches and the Old Town but far enough away not to be disturbed by noise at night. The hotel was spotlessly clean and we were given clean bedding and towels every day. Would recommend this hotel most definitely.
We enjoyed the relaxed family atmosphere and its location close to local facilities and nightlife We were also pleased with its position being within 5 miniutes from the beach.
We were disappointed with the bathroom which had a strong odour. We felt the beds were very small although comfortable. More suited for children.
Stayed for 1 week in May 2012. Excellent value for money - and from some of the bad reports I read on Booked.net - did not know what to expect. In a very good location - close to all bars/shops and the beach. Stayed in Room 102 - with view of the pool. Cannot fault the cleanliness of the room - with clean sheets/towels every single day. Had a fridge and tv in the room. Hotel staff always friendly and smiling. Had to go over to Merlins Bar for continental breakfast - plenty to eat - am sure that the new bar is now open - where they will serve breakfast - did look as though it would be very nice - did not hear any noise from the work in progress. The only downside for us was the inconsiderate other hotel guests - who at 3am/4am or even 5am woke us up being very loud and noisy!!! Otherwise would go again and recommend people to go - definately got what we paid for and more.
Everthing that was requested was there had a great roomj number 402 would definately return to this hotel...slight problem I left my mothers rosary in ther room are you able to contact hotel for me to see if it is there and I could arrange for a friend to pick up for me...thank you anita thomas
Excellent location, 2mins from old town main square, 2mins from fishermans beach, 30secs from Eddys bar!! good, friendly staff.
Can be tiring walking back from old town up hills and steps.
The hotel could not be faulted at all apart from it was in need of some decoration works to the outside of the building. I would like to say that the cleanliness of the rooms was amazing and the hotel was in an excellent location
the only thing I could fault that that the building needed some decoration works to the outside and the pool area could be a bit smarter but apart from this it was excellent and all staff were fabulous and helpful
great location if you are outgoing and love to do shopping. beach just 2 min walk.good cleaning.
old furniture, bed sheets has a little bit smell, all rooms propably needs to be deepcleaned. broken shower cabinet. face towels been placed on toilet water sink. in one morning before 11 am cleaner knock the door for room cleaning even breakfast time didn t finished.
1.Breakfast, not good. 2. Air quality: Had a basement room, air in the room is not ventilated.High humidity due to misfunction heat system 3. Hard bed.
Great location, convenient for old town and beach. Quite at night, very clean room
Sun terraces on 4th and 5th floors were not cleaned during our stay The day we arrived a water leak appeared from the ceiling in our room resulting in a puddle on the floor. It took some persistence on our part to get the receptionist to allocate another room
The holiday worked out at 13 Euro or £11 per person per night, bed and continental breakfast included, for a location near the beach and in the Albufeira Old Town, which was excellent value for money. The room cleanliness was excellent and comfort good. The breakfast was typical continental and although lovely became a little boring so we ate breakfast out a few times. We are a couple aged 47 and 50 years and were in Albufeira for 10 days and would consider coming to the Vila Arecife again.
However, there was noise from the town at night, sometimes until 5 am - but this is because the town is a natural amphitheatre and so noise is to be expected. The pool was a little small, and sun only on one side of it in the morning and on the other side of it in the afternoon up to 4pm. It meant a bit of vying for a sunbed if you opted to stay at the pool. The breakfast was typical continental and although lovely became a little boring so we ate breakfast out a few times.
Th location and value for money
